G20 EMPOWER envisions a world of equal opportunities. However, the lack of access to credit, networks, and high-value markets continues to challenge the growth of women-owned enterprises across countries. Women's entrepreneurship has been a priority under India's Presidency, with a commitment to proactively address the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.

The G20 EMPOWER Working Group on Financial Inclusion and Business Acceleration (FIBA), chaired by Ms Chetna Gala Sinha, Founder and Chairperson of Mann Deshi Bank and Mann Deshi Foundation, aims to foster women's economic empowerment through entrepreneurship. The Working Group focuses on spurring industry and policy actions to advance gender-intentional financial inclusion and build skills and capabilities.

Moreover, evidence indicates that the majority of businesses owned by women remain small, and it is imperative that these enterprises are encouraged to scale. Enhancing market linkages for women-owned enterprises has also been a key agenda for discussion under the Working Group.

Women entrepreneurs have significant untapped potential, and closing the gender gap in women's entrepreneurship can tremendously boost global GDP growth. Our joint efforts to find solutions for expanding access to finance, capabilities, and networks can help unlock a plethora of opportunities for women entrepreneurs, propelling them to new heights.
